Local Bars Won't Have The Fight Tonight...

All of the media outlets are reporting that the local bars are not allowed to show the fight tonight... Unless you are going to be there, or possibly watching Pay Per View at home, you can get all the fight updates right here on DY! I will be updating live via twitter (follow mschwartz01 or see the twitter update window in the top right corner of this page)

I hope all of the Kelly fans out there are ready! It going to be great "going back to campus" - If only Pogo's Pub was still open!

Pavlik vs. Espino Weigh In - will the fighters make 160?

In another event leading to Saturday night's fight, Pavlik and Espino will attend the official fight weigh in at YSU's Beeghly Center at approximately 1:00 PM on Friday 12/18/09. Both fighters need to weigh 160 lbs. or less in order to compete in the middle weight division. This event is free to the public! I will not be able to attend the weigh in this time, but I can not wait to cover the fight! I will be in attendance to update the site with pictures and updates!

Its been a while since Youngstown's Kelly Pavlik defended his WBO and WBC Middleweight Titles, but for us lucky Youngstowners, the wait is almost over! We brought live updates right here on DowntownYoungstown.com from the February fight when Kelly defeated Rubio with a TKO after the 9th round. We will be providing updates for the Pavlik vs. Espino fight as well, live from YSU's own Beeghly center!

Saturday December 18th, 2009 Kelly Pavlik will defend his WBO and WBC Middleweight Titles right here in Youngstown, OH - Thats TWO title defenses right here in our city! You heard it right... Marco Robio forfeited the fight after the ninth round. So we did not see a knockdown tonight, but we will take the win for Kelly!

Its now party night in Youngstown! Live it up downtown! There are at least 10,000 people downtown tonight! I'm coming to you live from Barley's where there is a live band about to go on. Lots of room left here if you are looking for a place to hang after the fight.

We may check out downtown 36 if the line outside dies down, but downtown is alive and well! C'mon downtown!

Happy Valentines day to all of you!

Before I get some dinner with my wife, I wanted to snap a few pics downtown of some of the recent changes and grab a shot of the Chev for tonight's story... So here goes...

The time is almost upon us when history is made in Downtown Youngstown Ohio at the Chevrolet Centre... Just 7 days from today, Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik will defend the middleweight titles against Marco Antonio Rubio Live at the Chev in Downtown Youngstown, Ohio.

The amount of tickets sold have already surpassed every other event at the centre with approximately 6900 tickets sold. The DowntownYoungstown.com crew will be covering the event live with updates to the site directly from the Chev with flickr and story updates! Will you be there? Less then three weeks to go and more tickets available?

You heard it right! Top rank freed up more space and now there are even more tickets available on the floor for just $150 per ticket! While this is already the biggest event the Chev will ever hold, it can now hold even more! Reports are in that Top Rank held some space in the corners of the floor in order to produce their Pay Per View event, but now have decided that the extra space is not needed. That means more seating is now available! Do you have your seats yet?

The new tickets on the floor go on sale at 10:00 AM EST tomorrow morning (Wednesday February 4th, 2009), so if you want to get your hands on some, be logged in to Ticketmaster.com at 10AM sharp to get yours! Otherwise, you just might miss out like so many did on January 10th who waited in line at the Chev all night...

This is your chance to be a part of Youngstown history! This will be the biggest even in the history of the Chevrolet Centre. If you can't be there, don't worry! DowntownYoungstown.com's writer, photographer, and myself will be at the event to bring live updates right here on the night of the fight, so if you can't make it to the Chev, just hang out here for all of the updates!
